Bellator wants to set up Ryan Bader vs. Jiri Prochazka
It looks like Bellator heavyweight title fight Ryan Bader vs. Cheick Kongo that ended with a no contest will not be continued.
According to Josh Gross, Bellator is negotiating with the Rizin promotion to organize the fight between Bader (27-5, 1 NC) and Rizin light heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka (24-3).
“Bellator is in talks with Nobuyuki Sakakibara to collaborate on a pair of late December events in Japan, and Scott Coker told me he wants to bring Ryan Bader with him to challenge the Rizin light heavyweight champion, Jiri Prochazka,” Gross tweeted.
Ryan Bader vs. Cheick Kongo headlined the Bellator 226 event last weekend. The reason the bout was called a no contest was accidental eye poke from Bader that stopped Kongo from continuing.
As for Prochazka, he had his last fight at Rizin 15 in April where he knocked out “King Mo” Lawal.
