Khabib Nurmagomedov gives his return date, comments on fighting Floyd Mayweather
Russian UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov (28-0) took part in the press conference dedicated to the upcoming event in Moscow and clarified on his plans for the nearest future.
According to Khabib, he was offered to have a fight in March but he plans to fight a little later.
“We were offered to have a fight in March in Las Vegas. But we’re going to fight there only if they apologize for fining us. I also know that there’s going to be an event in New York in April. I’m ready to fight there.”
Khabib also commented on the possible fight against boxer Floyd Mayweather.
“I think it would be better for me to fight Tony Ferguson rather than Floyd at this stage of my career. I’m more focused on MMA. If he moved to MMA we would fight but I don’t think it’s possible. I don’t have plans to have a boxing fight next year.”
Khabib Nurmagomedov had his last fight on September 7 at the UFC 242. In the main event of the night he dominantly defeated interim champ Dustin Poirier via the third-round submission.
