Uzbek UFC middleweight Makhmud Muradov (24-6) will replace injured Brad Tavares in a fight against Antonio Carlos Junior (10-4, 1 NC) at the UFC Brasilia that will take place on March 14.

Antonio Carlos Junior is on a two-fight loss streak but he’s still taking number 14 of the official UFC middleweight rankings. The Brazilian lost to Ian Heinisch and Uriah Hall by decision and before than he was on a five-fight win streak with four of them being submission wins.

Makhmud Muradov did a great start in the UFC with two wins. In his debut fight the Uzbek defeated Alessio Di Chirico via unanimous decision and then spectacularly knocked out Trevor Smith, having received the “Performance of the Night” bonus at the UFC on ESPN 7. The break between the first and second fight of Muradov was less than three months.
