UFC 229 tickets cost 9 times more than UFC 243
Even though the big UFC 243 event that took place in Melbourne last weekend broke the record for the biggest number of attendees, the ticket price for it was lower that for many other events of the promotion.
If you look at the simple math, you’ll see that the average ticket price for the UFC 243 was about $96.5 and the event was attended by more than 57,000 people. The total sales were almost $5.5M. If you compare that to the most expensive event in the history of the promotion – UFC 229 – that was attended by just about 20,000 people but gave about $17.2M, it turns out that the average ticket price was about $860. So, we can suggest that the average ticket price for the UFC 229 was almost 9 times higher.
In the main event of the UFC 243 Israel Adesanya knocked out Robert Whittaker and earned the middleweight championship title. As for the UFC 229, it was headlined by one of the biggest fights in the history of the promotion between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor.
