Leon Edwards does not rule out the possibility of a submission victory over Gunnar Nelson
In the co-main event of the UFC tournament in London, which will be held tomorrow at the O2 arena, we are waiting for the classic confrontation of the striker versus grappler, when Leon Edwards meets in a cage with Gunnar Nelson.
Despite the apparent confrontation of styles, Leon Edwards sees this fight differently. According to the high-profile British welterweight, he would not be surprised if he ended the fight with a submission technique.
“I can’t wait when I go out there and show the world how good I am,” - says Edwards. “What if I make him tap? It will be just great if I go out there and choke him out. So I’m going to do it, I will prove to the world that I can do it. I feel good, I am perfectly prepared for the fight and ready to go,”
To date, British welterweight Leon Edwards leads a series of six consecutive victories at the UFC, which includes victories over big names of the company as Vicente Luque, Bryan Barberena, and Donald Cerrone. Now he is number 10 ranked welterweight in the UFC roster.
Cold-blooded Icelandic ground game guru Gunnar Nelson is known as a master of choking techniques. Thanks to his high-level submissions, he has already won seven fights in the UFC, making to tap such fighters as Albert Tumenov, Omari Akhmedov, Alan Jouban, and Alex Oliveira.
