Tyron Woodley: “Henry Cejudo is annoying everybody”
Did you know Henry Cejudo (15-2) had an Olympic gold medal? Even if you did Henry will definitely remind you that over and over again. And don’t be surprised to see him wearing a crown and holding plushie toys that symbolize his opponents while doing so.
Despite this kind of build-up bearing some fruit, and, perhaps, only a casual (or deaf) fan haven’t heard about Henry Cejudo yet, not everybody is happy about the new image of the UFC Flyweight and Bantamweight champion. One of those is former welterweight champion Tyron Woodley (19-4-1). He shared his thoughts on the new UFC star in the latest issue of The Hollywood Beatdown.
“Henry Cejudo, sit down somewhere, dog. Sit down somewhere; you’re annoying everybody,” Woodley said. “He is a phenomenal fighter. It’s amazing that he’s been able to win an Olympic gold medal, which is more important to me than a UFC belt, because it’s the hardest thing that you can do in combat sports. He beat Demetrious Johnson, a pound for pound legend, won a belt in two divisions.”
“So what I’m saying is that his resume is crazy in a very short period of time. But when you start doing that extra stuff, oof, just stop. Hey, man, you a beast. Keep killing it. Keep it up in the Octagon. Tone down the extra-ness by like 10. Take it down 10, and you set.”
A week ago Henry Cejudo, the flyweight champion, went up to 135 lb and faced Marlon Moraes in the fight for the vacant bantamweight title. Despite the difficulties he had in the beginning, Cejudo turned the tables and won by TKO in the third round, becoming the champion in two divisions.
