JORGE MASVIDAL AND ANTHONY PETTIS WILL MEET IN A GRAPPLING MATCH
The top UFC welterweights Jorge Masvidal (33-13) and Anthony Pettis (22-8) already know their next UFC opponents but before that the two will meet each other in a grappling match. As part of the DT Promotions campaign, they will face each other in an event that will take place in Pensacola, Florida, on June 15. Alongside with them, the top UFC middleweight Yoel Romero will also take part in the event but his opponent is still unknown.
Both fighters came from lightweight division and had their respective fights within a week from each other. Masvidal entered the Octagon in the mid-March when he massively knocked out once-promising British puncher Darren Till, while Pettis defeated top puncher Stephen Thompson by KO a week later. Both fighters were clear underdogs before their bouts.
It’s worth noting that Masvidal and Pettis both know their next opponents. The first is going to face Ben Askren at UFC 239 while Pettis will join the main card of UFC 241 where he’s going to face popular Stockton puncher Nate Diaz.
